Service Provider

These terms govern your use of PocketPost™, developed, distributed, and operated by Ramesh Ramamurthy Manubolu (ABN: 59 229 147 740), who is the sole author, developer, and distributor of this application.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using PocketPost™, you agree to these terms of service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the application.

2. Description of Service

PocketPost™ is a local-only document management application that provides:

  • On-device OCR (Optical Character Recognition)
  • Local entity extraction and document classification
  • Personal document organisation and search
  • Secure local storage with no cloud transmission

IMPORTANT SECURITY DISCLAIMER:

We do not provide any protection against jailbroken/rooted devices and are not responsible for data loss or unauthorised access to the app or app's data, whether the device is jailbroken/rooted or not. We are also not responsible for exposed app data files due to iCloud backup, device backup, or any other backup mechanism.

3. Local-Only Service Model

PocketPost™ operates entirely on your device. No data is transmitted to external servers, ensuring complete privacy and data control. All processing occurs locally using on-device machine learning models.

Third-Party Technology:

PocketPost™ uses the following third-party technologies for on-device processing:

  • Android: Google ML Kit for text recognition and entity extraction (processes data locally; Google may collect technical diagnostics as described in our Privacy Policy)
  • iOS: Apple Vision Framework for document processing (no data collection by Apple)

By using PocketPost™, you acknowledge and accept the use of these technologies. Your document content remains on your device and is not shared with these third parties.

Third-Party Terms and Indemnification:

Third-party technologies (Google ML Kit, Apple Vision Framework, and others) are subject to their own terms of service and privacy policies, which may change without notice to us or you. We make no representations or warranties regarding third-party services and expressly disclaim all liability arising from:

  • Changes to third-party terms or policies
  • Third-party service interruptions or failures
  • Third-party data collection practices
  • Any violations of third-party terms by you
  • Any other third-party services or dependencies integrated in the app

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ramesh Ramamurthy Manubolu from any claims arising from your use of third-party services through PocketPost™.

4. User Responsibilities

  • You are solely responsible for the content of documents you scan and store
  • You must comply with all applicable laws when using the app
  • You are responsible for maintaining your device security and backups
  • You should not use the app for illegal, harmful, or unauthorised purposes
  • You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to scan and store documents

5. Intellectual Property

The PocketPost™ application, including its code, design, algorithms, and machine learning models, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. All rights are reserved by Ramesh Ramamurthy Manubolu.

6. Privacy and Data Ownership

You retain complete ownership and control of all documents and data stored in PocketPost™. We do not access, collect, or transmit your data. Refer to our Privacy Policy for detailed information.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

PocketPost™ is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties regarding accuracy, reliability, or completeness of OCR results
  • Warranties regarding entity extraction or document classification accuracy
  • Warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • Warranties regarding compatibility with your device or operating system

OCR accuracy may vary significantly based on document quality, type, language, handwriting, lighting conditions, and other factors. Machine learning predictions are statistical estimates only and must be independently verified for accuracy.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • Ramesh Ramamurthy Manubolu (as author, developer, and distributor) shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of PocketPost™
  • This includes but is not limited to: data loss, data theft, unauthorised access, security breaches, privacy violations, business interruption, lost profits, inaccurate OCR results, missed deadlines due to incorrect entity extraction, device damage, or any other damages
  • Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability for certain damages; in such cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law

8A. Disclaimer for Data Theft and Unauthorised Access

THE AUTHOR, DEVELOPER, AND DISTRIBUTOR (RAMESH RAMAMURTHY MANUBOLU, ABN: 59 229 147 740) IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Any data theft, security breaches, or unauthorised access to your documents or personal information
  • Loss or disclosure of sensitive information due to hacking, malware, or cyber attacks
  • Compromise of data resulting from device theft, loss, or sharing
  • Any security vulnerabilities in the app, device operating system, or third-party components
  • Unauthorised access by third parties through any means
  • Identity theft, fraud, or other crimes resulting from data exposure
  • Any damages, losses, legal liability, or consequences arising from data security incidents

You acknowledge that no mobile application can guarantee complete security and you use PocketPost™ at your own risk. You agree to hold the developer harmless from any claims related to data theft, unauthorised access, or security breaches.

8B. Device Damage Disclaimer

THE AUTHOR, DEVELOPER, AND DISTRIBUTOR OF POCKETPOST™ IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE THAT THIS APP MIGHT CAUSE TO YOUR PHONE, TABLET, OR OTHER DEVICES. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Physical damage (cracked screens, hardware failure, overheating, battery degradation)
  • Electronic damage (motherboard failure, sensor malfunction, connectivity issues)
  • Software damage (OS corruption, bootloop, system crashes, data corruption)
  • Performance issues (slowdowns, freezing, app conflicts, excessive resource usage)
  • Storage issues (corrupted files, lost data, insufficient space)
  • Security vulnerabilities or breaches resulting from app usage
  • Any consequential damages or losses arising from device malfunction

You install and use PocketPost™ entirely at your own risk. The developer makes no guarantees about compatibility, stability, or safety for your specific device configuration. By using this app, you expressly waive any right to hold the developer liable for device-related issues and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ramesh Ramamurthy Manubolu from all claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from device damage or malfunction.

9. Data Backup and Loss Responsibility

YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Creating and maintaining backups of all important documents
  • Verifying the accuracy of OCR results and extracted data
  • Any consequences arising from data loss, corruption, or inaccuracy

We expressly disclaim all liability for data loss regardless of cause, including but not limited to app errors, device failure, OS updates, or user error.

9A. Backup and Restore Feature Disclaimer

THE BACKUP AND RESTORE FEATURES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES. The author, developer, and distributor is NOT RESPONSIBLE for:

  • Backup failures, corruption, or incomplete backups
  • Inability to restore backups due to file corruption, format changes, or compatibility issues
  • Data loss during backup or restore processes
  • Storage limitations, cloud service failures, or file system errors affecting backups
  • Encrypted or inaccessible backup files
  • Loss of backups due to deletion, device changes, or third-party service issues
  • Any other backup or restore failures regardless of cause

You are solely responsible for verifying backup integrity and maintaining multiple backup copies. Never rely on a single backup method or location.

9B. Export Feature Disclaimer

THE EXPORT FEATURE IS PROVIDED "AS IS". We are NOT RESPONSIBLE for:

  • Export failures, incomplete exports, or corrupted export files
  • Formatting issues, data loss, or quality degradation during export
  • Incompatibility with third-party applications or file formats
  • Any damages arising from exported file usage

Always verify exported files before deleting originals.

10. Use at Your Own Risk

By downloading, installing, and using PocketPost™, you explicitly acknowledge that:

  • You use this app entirely at your own risk
  • The developer is not responsible for any harm, damage, or loss resulting from app usage
  • You have read and understood all disclaimers and liability limitations
  • You accept full responsibility for any consequences of using this app
  • You will not hold the developer liable for any issues arising from the app

11. Age Rating and Parental Responsibility

PocketPost™ has an age rating of 4+. However, if you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent to use this app. Parents and guardians are solely responsible for:

  • Monitoring and supervising minor usage of the app
  • Any content minors scan, store, or access through the app
  • Ensuring minors comply with these terms and use the app appropriately
  • Any damages, violations, or issues arising from minor usage
  • Ensuring minors do not scan inappropriate, illegal, or harmful content

The developer is not responsible for minor usage without proper parental supervision or for any content minors choose to scan and store.

12. User Indemnification

YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY, DEFEND, AND HOLD HARMLESS Ramesh Ramamurthy Manubolu (as author, developer, and distributor), and any affiliates, from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to:

  • Your use or misuse of PocketPost™
  • Your violation of these terms or any applicable laws
  • Your content, documents, or data stored in the app
  • Any third-party claims arising from your use of the app
  • Data security breaches affecting your device or accounts
  • Any harm or damage caused to others through your use of the app

This indemnification obligation survives termination of your use of PocketPost™.

13. Regulatory Compliance

You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of PocketPost™ complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to:

  • Data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, Privacy Act 1988, etc.)
  • Industry-specific regulations (HIPAA, financial regulations, etc.)
  • Copyright and intellectual property laws
  • Document retention requirements

PocketPost™ is a general-purpose tool and makes no representations regarding compliance with specific regulatory requirements.

14. Subscription and Payment Terms

Premium Monthly Subscription:

  • Title: PocketPost™ Premium Monthly Subscription
  • Price: AUD $0.99 per month (price may vary by region and currency)
  • Length: 1 month subscription period
  • Auto-Renewal: Your subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Billing: Payment will be charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account at confirmation of purchase
  • Renewal Charges: Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current subscription period at the same price
  • Family Sharing: This subscription supports Family Sharing on iOS, allowing up to 5 family members to access Premium features

Cancellation and Refunds:

  • You can cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play Store account settings
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
  • No partial refunds for unused time within a subscription period
  • Refunds are subject to Apple App Store and Google Play Store policies, not the developer's discretion
  • The developer does not control or guarantee refund approvals

Subscription Management:

  • Subscriptions are managed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
  • To manage or cancel: iOS - Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions; Android - Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions
  • We are not responsible for unauthorised charges, billing errors by Apple/Google, or failed subscription renewals
  • No refunds for partial subscription periods or unused features

15. App Store and Platform Changes

The developer is NOT RESPONSIBLE for:

  • App removal from App Store or Play Store for any reason
  • Platform policy changes affecting app functionality or availability
  • Operating system updates breaking app compatibility
  • Apple or Google discontinuing services or APIs the app depends on
  • Store restrictions, region locks, or device incompatibilities

16. App Store Terms

Your use of PocketPost™ is also governed by the terms of service of the platform through which you downloaded the app (Apple App Store, Google Play Store, etc.). You acknowledge that the app store provider is not responsible for PocketPost™.

17. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time without prior notice. Updated terms will be posted in the app. Your continued use after modifications constitutes binding acceptance of the revised terms. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically.

18. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

19. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to PocketPost™ at any time without notice. You may stop using PocketPost™ at any time by deleting the application from your device. All provisions that should survive termination shall survive.

20. No Professional Advice

PocketPost™ does not provide legal, financial, medical, or professional advice. OCR results and entity extraction are for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon for critical decisions without independent verification.

21. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Ramesh Ramamurthy Manubolu regarding PocketPost™ and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications. No amendment or modification of these terms shall be valid unless in writing and posted in the app.

22. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles.
